Jeans for Scholarship
Student Council’s Jeans for Scholarship Fund Day
What is Scholarship Day?
Any student who wishes to wear jeans is required to pay $2.00 toward the Jeans for Scholarship Fund on or before the Jeans for Scholarship Friday. Student Council representatives will come to classes to collect money. All proceeds will go toward Jeans for Scholarship Fund.
Jeans for Scholarship will be changing in January 2025 to now be Jeans for Missionary Childhood Association (MCA). As scholarship monies are less needed, our faith teaches us to help others who are less fortunate in different ways. The Missionary Childhood Association (MCA) is an organization within the Catholic Church that promotes responsibility for missions and supports new and growing churches in some of the poorest parts of the world that need our help. MCA aims to foster a missionary spirit in individuals, families, parishes, and educational institutions with the motto of "children helping children". There is so much poverty throughout this world and we will support these missionaries who do just that. We will have a special MCA week close to Valentine's Day when guest speakers will spend time with our children and service projects will take place. It is really about praying and children doing things for other children. One important service project will be making rosaries for children in the missionaries. Administration believes this will be a wonderful undertaking for our children this year.
